Two of Osprey's most recognized features are Oscar Scherer State Park, which borders the southern edge of the community with more than 1,300 acres of natural scrub, and Historic Spanish Point on Little Sarasota Bay, a 30-acre waterfront preserve with significant history going back to prehistoric Native American settlements and the winter estate of Bertha Palmer. Osprey also contains several gated and planned communities including The Oaks Club, one of the most well-known private golf and country club addresses in the area.
